Thanksgiving Day

Tuesday 26th  November

On 4th Thursday in November, Thanksgiving Day.

Why were you so noisy and excited today?

And, why didn’t you do homework? You, lazy kids!

We made postcards pretending to be on holiday and sent them to another classmate. You spent your holidays in nice places!

I see one of you is in New York, who is he?
Do you remember who is in L.A.?
Another student is on holiday on the moon. Who?
Sergio is on the beach in Málaga
Who is in Toledo?
And where is Dani? Oh! He’s on holiday at home!

We interviewed our classmates. Our questions were related to their last holiday. So, we used the past.

Answer the questions below for homework. Please!!!

Where did you go?
Who did you go with?
Where did you stay?
What did you do there?
How long did you say?

We read about Thanksgiving Day

Can you remember the answers to these questions?

When is Thanksgiving Day celebrated in Canada?
When is Thanksgiving Day celebrated in the USA?
What was the “Mayflower”?
How do Americans celebrate this date?
What did Native Americans help the Pilgrims to do?

Do you remember the meaning of these words?
Corn, sweet potato, a feast, thankful, cabin, squash, turkey, Pilgrims

For homework, make sentences using the words above. You can use more than one word in the same sentence.

Hi! Tell me about your hobbies!

Listening on Hobbies

Hello, I’m your new teacher.
My name’s Mª Ángeles. Nice to meet you!

Let’s  start working!

So, our interviewers conducted a survey to find out the best hobby.
Do you remember the questions:

What’s your hobby? What do you like about it? Who do you play with / do your hobby with? Where do you play it / do it? What do you like about it? Can you remember a special moment (e.g. wining a medal / a trophy / beating another team / finding something unusual...)

Do you think you could interview your father, your mother or another member of the family about their hobbies?
You can use the questions above.

And for homework: find a photo or a picture related to holidays. It could be a photo of one of the holidays you had or a photo from a magazine. Because  we’re going to talk about hols. in our next class. (hols means holidays)

We played “Stop” to revise vocabulary. We also wrote high numbers.
And ...this is the result of our game

Games we Play

Hi everybody!

In our class today, we talked about Halloween.
You did lots of funny things!

We worked a little and we play, play, play…

First, you have to describe your hobbies without saying the name. And we have to guess what hobby it is.

You have to spell your names. Yes, well done!

Let´s play! Hide the rubber and give us clues so that we can find it. Is it above, below, under, behind, in front of…the chair? The table? In your pocket?
We learnt new words: coat hanger, pocket, to stick.

OH! I think you were waiting for this:
