Paula and Sergio didn’t come to class. Don’t worry because you can take part in (participate) our performance with something easy.
This is the script of our play. Keep rehearsing.
Daisy’s Christmas
SANTA CLAUS/GRANDPA : It’s Christmas Day. The family is together.
PETER: (running around and looking under the furniture) Where are the presents? Where’s Father Christmas coming?
SANTA CLAUS/GRANDPA : Peter, come here. I’m going to tell you a story.
PETER: yes, yes, a story.
SANTA CLAUS/GRANDPA : Once upon a time… there was a girl called Daisy.
DAISY: (Daisy talks while she’s walking) My name’s Daisy. I help my parents in the fields. Now, I’m going back home. Oh! What’s this? (She bends and picks something from the ground). It’s a lot of money! For my presents!
(Daisy runs home)
Daddy, daddy look at this!
DAISY’S FATHER: what is that? It’s a lot of money! Now we can buy presents for the family.
(At the same time, Mr Evans is walking along the street. He’s going to the shop to do his Christmas shopping)
Mr EVANS: I’m Mr Evans. I’m going to the shop to buy presents for my family. (He puts his hands into his pockets, looking for something).
Oh, where’s my money? I’ve lost it! The children are going to be very sad.
(He walks home feeling very sad).
(At Daisy’s house, her father is talking to her)
DAISY’S FATHER: Your mother told me that the money is Mr Evans’ so, you have to give it back to him.
DAISY: Oh no! We can’t buy presents.
DAISY’S FATHER: It’s not our money. Take it back to Mr Evans.
(Daisy goes to Mr Evans’ home. She knocks on the door. Mr Evans opens the door)
DAISY: Hello Mr Evans. I found this in the street.
Mr EVANS: Oh thanks. It’s my wallet. Now I can buy presents. Here you are. This is for you.
DAISY: thank you very much.
(Peter asks grandpa)
PETER: and what happened?
SANTA CLAUS/GRANDPA: then Daisy went home and gave the money to her family.
PETER: Did Daisy buy her presents? Did Father Christmas leave presents to Daisy?
SANTA CLAUS/GRANDPA : yes, a lot. Because she did a good thing.
All the kids say and sing “We wish you a Merry Christmas.”
